About

I am an occupational therapist with 14 years of experience providing individualized care to adults, primarily in skilled nursing facilities and home health settings. I also had the privilege of serving as my mom’s private OT throughout her long Alzheimer’s journey.

My interest in CBIT grew from both my professional experience and personal life—seeing firsthand the impact of tics on families and the importance of effective, practical strategies that foster confidence and a sense of agency. My interest in CBIT is both professional and personal, informed by years of clinical experience and my own family’s experience with Tourette Syndrome. I completed CBIT training through the Tourette Association of America in 2024 and am currently the only occupational therapist in Oregon providing this specialized service. I founded Practical OT to help meet a statewide need for effective treatment for Tourette Syndrome and tic disorders.

Outside of my practice, I enjoy homeschooling my children, caring for my small farm of animals, back-road driving in my Toyota 4×4, and baking homemade sourdough bread.

Philosophy

I am committed to a person-centered approach in every treatment session, bringing creative curiosity, mutual connection, and excitement for growth and change. Guided by evidence-based practice and delivered with genuine compassion and empathy, my goal is to help you live a life not defined by tics.

  • Anna brings creativity to the CBIT process

As a CBIT provider and trainer for occupational therapists I am happy to endorse Anna Potter as a CBIT provider.

Anna is conscientious and compassionate. She goes the extra mile with and for her clients and also brings creativity to the CBIT process.

While fairly new to CBIT, Anna is a natural. Clients of all ages experience positive responses to intervention with Anna as their partner.
